Are you a team player?

“Coming together is a beginning; staying together is progress; working together is success.”

Being able to work together is vital to every business, big or small.  Even in network marketing, you are not alone.  Not only can you work together with your sponsor and others in their downline but team members throughout the entire organization.  I have known people involved with network marketing who think they have to operate in secret and are afraid to share anything with people outside of their downlines.

Goals are met when two or more people work together on the road to success. Take me for example, I have become really good friends with another distributor in my organization.  She is not in my downline but in my crossline.  We regularly chat and share information and ideas with one another.  Though we may have different sponsors, our end goal is the same.  To build a successful business.

There are many benefits when you have a partner or when you work with a group:

  • You have someone to bounce ideas off of.
  • You can brainstorm together.  Two heads are better than one.
  • You can celebrate success milestones together.
  • You can support one another during times of failure.

Working together with a common goal and maintaining a successful relationship holds a greater probability that you will achieve your dreams! And remember, there is no “I” in teamwork.

Open discussion:  Do you play well with others?  How are you fostering teamwork in your organization?

  • Hi Patty,
I've always recognized the value of being a team player. Nothing compares to the combined knowledge of a group with a common goal.
  • I couldn't agree more, Jimi. I think the Twitter 12 is just that, a team coming together to accomplish one goal. To be successful bloggers and share our knowledge with the world.
  • Hi Patty,

Thanks for joining our Twitter 12. That's perfect timing for this post. Now you're a member of a team of bloggers who are looking to help one another improve and move forward.

Since I've hooked up with a group of bloggers, I feel so encouraged to keep on going even when it seems really hard with little material reward for all the hard work.
  • Thank you Gordie for welcoming me into the Twitter 12 group. I am looking forward to being a part of this group of successful bloggers and experiencing our success together.
  • I'm not a network marketer, but one of the things that struck me when I became a blogger was the teamwork and interaction with other bloggers. Coming from a conventional business background, it takes time to realise that your "competitors" are your greatest asset.
  • You are so right Mike. Ultimately we all have the same goal. To be successful in business. And being a "team player" transcends into every business. Just think of what this world could accomplish if we all worked as part of one team.
  • Being an avid sports fan, I fully understand the importance of being a team player.
I played Rugby, Soccer, Volley Ball. All of which are team sports. The beauty about this is that you might not be brilliant on your own. But as a combined team, all your talents and efforts sum up to brilliance.
  • Those are very wise words Robert. Thank you for sharing your insight.
